A valve body brings together internal flow geometry and external interfaces that must fit the rest of the valve. Investment casting can offer a route to the body shape, while machining and testing establish additional requirements. The supply plan should keep those operations connected from the first drawing review.

Review the passage as a manufactured feature

Internal geometry must be formed, cleaned and inspected. A compact model can hide a passage that is difficult to access after casting. Identify the required internal condition and discuss how the supplier will demonstrate it.

Manufacturing changes to a flow path should not be accepted only because they simplify casting. The responsible valve designer needs to approve their effect on the intended geometry and duty.

Use a datum scheme that serves the seals and connections

Sealing faces, seats and connection features can require close relationships after machining. Establish how those features will be located and which operations will create them. The rough casting must provide sufficient stock and practical workholding surfaces for that sequence.

A quotation for a valve-body blank differs from one for a fully machined body. State the intended supply condition so the price and inspection obligations are comparable across suppliers.

Keep pressure requirements tied to the governing design

The material grade, treatment and examination requirements should come from the approved design and applicable specification. Do not assume that a particular alloy name or casting route establishes a pressure rating for the finished valve.

Any required body pressure or leak test should identify the test stage and acceptance basis. The body test and the performance of the assembled valve are different obligations and should be quoted accordingly.

Make traceability part of the delivery scope

Where required, material and inspection records should connect to the supplied lot or component. Any production repair or deviation needs to follow the agreed approval requirements rather than being discovered after shipment.

Tousin Metal can review valve-body manufacturing enquiries with the drawing revision and required delivery state. A coherent route links cast passages, machined interfaces and inspection evidence, helping the buyer receive a body that can move into the next assembly stage with clearly defined acceptance.
